| Product: | Netscape Navigator |
If your domain is connected to the outside world through an "ANS InterLock" firewall proxy server, you may notice that Netscape Navigator will not remember your firewall password; instead, it keeps prompting for the firewall password every time you try to retrieve a page through the firewall. This is because the only way to do authentication through a firewall used to be to use the HTTP authentication mechanism. This is a troublesome approach, because the HTTP authentication was designed to work properly only between the client and the final destinatation server, not an intermediate proxy agent. To solve this, get the "InterLock netscape_forwarder" patch from ANS by sending a request for it to "ilsupport@reston.ans.net". Netscape Navigator and InterLock netscape_forwarder work properly together.
