Error 10047: you're using 32-bit Netscape on a 16-bit connection

Technical note:10119
Created:12/26/95 by Brian
Product:Netscape Navigator
Operating system:Microsoft Windows

Either one of these two common situations will cause an "Error 10047"
when you try to run Netscape Navigator under Microsoft Windows:
  (1) Under Windows 3.1 (a 16-bit operating system): you have 16-bit
networking software installed, and you are trying to run the 32-bit
version of Netscape Navigator. This will not work; you have to use
the 16-bit version of Netscape Navigator in this situation.
Whether or not you have Win32s (the 32-bit extensions for Windows
3.1) installed makes no difference; the 16-bit Netscape Navigator
does not need Win32s, and the 32-bit Navigator will not run with it.
(However, if you have an old version of Win32s, you will need to
upgrade to the latest version of it, since old versions of Win32s
replace perfectly-good 16-bit libraries on your system with buggy
      32-bit libraries.)
  (2) Under Windows 95 (a 32-bit operating system): you have 16-bit
networking software installed (such as Trumpet Winsock), and you are
trying to run the 32-bit version of Netscape Navigator. This will not
work because you can't use 32-bit networking applications with 16-bit
networking connection software. You should either use the 16-bit
version of Netscape Navigator software on your system, or else you
should upgrade your networking software to a 32-bit version (such as
      the Windows 95 built-in TCP/IP networking software).
