Changing your Modem Init String

Summary: Sometimes you may want to modify the initialization string to adjust the settings that the modem recognizes.

This technical note will give you the steps necessary to achieve this goal.

Details:

  1. From the Highway Toolbar go to "User Settings"
  2. Select "Modem Settings"
  3. When Prompted if you would like Highway 101 to auto-detect your modem click "No"
  4. Click Next to select the current COM: port.
  5. When presented with the list of available modems, click on the Advanced Button.
  6. You may adjust the modem's init string as you see fit. (NOTE: Highway can double check that the modem will recognize your new init string for you).
  7. Click Ok, and finish the re-configuration assistant so Highway writes it's changes.
